About this Truveris Webinar: “Payer Strategies for Anticipating and Managing Gene Therapy”

Gene therapy has emerged as one of the most challenging topics for employers and their benefits programs. With costs that can reach hundreds of thousands of dollars for one-time treatments, these potentially life-changing therapies can be used to prevent, treat, or even cure certain diseases. Given the steady increase in the availability of gene therapies, it is essential for plan sponsors to understand the key clinical, operational, and financial implications of gene therapy to optimize access and value for both their members and organization.

In this session, originally aired on August 3rd, 2021, Truveris expert, Joe Thomas, PharmD, MPBA, took a deep dive into the current trends in the cell and gene therapy market. The webinar extends beyond defining gene therapy and itemizing the associated costs. Rather, it focuses on identifying appropriate use cases for these groundbreaking treatment options for patients, and outlining payer strategies for anticipating and managing these cases.
